Percussionist duo Richard Olatunde Baker and Lou Ciccotelli have already caused quite a few waves with Eardrum, causing the press to sit up and finally take proper notice of the quality illbient scene this country has to offer. Like their peers – Techno Animal and Main – Eardrum travel so far into how sounds can build to a 3D atmosphere, you’re often left wondering where to go as frenetic waves of percussion push your senses onto ‘cautious’ mode. This is the sort of stuff I can’t wait to play out – and I clear dancefloors in seconds.
