Origami Galaktika
Stjternevandring/Eesti Lilled Silmad SudaA real tongue twister of a title to get stuck into here but unfortunately not a lot else. This double CD from Norway is apparently about friendship but there is not much I can really glean from it. There is not one solid rhythm here, just endless droning soundscapes that don't really go anywhere, some of which last over 30 minutes. Across 2 CDs the tracks did nothing to suck me in and I couldn't really get any frame of reference.
All of this is made by one guy, Benny, who is constantly touring and performing this stuff, although to be honest I can't see how this would work live. I guess that is why he likes to perform naked. This is music for flotation tanks. It left me feeling totally cold, although I accept that are people who are into this sort of thing. I guess it's the aural equivalent of Marmite, you either love it or you hate it.
