Label boss Mike Grant finally gets his own way on his own label and does not waste his chance. Two tracks on side A are stunning examples of true Detroit house music; simple in construction yet dripping with emotion. Both boast gorgeous, soaring strings with The Struggle of my People built around a slightly off-kilter keyboard line, while A Beautiful Thing is just that, containing a very Detroit cymbal pattern. The Mr G mix of The Struggle maintains the overall feel, with an old house keyboard sound, but takes a trip to the dancefloor.
