If you had a taste for techno back at the start of the 90s it would have been hard to miss the distinctive sound of the 'Prince of Techno'. With tracks like Ghost, The Warning and One Mo Time (available here in three mixes) he did much to point the way forward for dance music in all it's forms. Digitally re-mastered, this re-issue of Tresor 02 will prove to be an essential educational excursion into largely overlooked roots for those who missed out the first time. Sadly his more recent work – of which five tracks are included here – fails to innovate to nearly the same extent. However, no one sounds quite like the Prince (did) and if, like me, you haven't already got the original you'd be mad to miss out.
