There's something pretty special at work here. While you can't deny that Dan Berridge's music sounds like DJ Shadow – using a collection of old vinyl samples to build new soundtracks – these tunes operate in a wholly different realm to the trip hop old guard. Evoking imagery of both urban and rural landscapes and emotions from despair to elated joy, often at the same time, you're left trapped inside the creator's world with no desire to get out.
