Ardisson
Hardware HandshakeWith his last EP for Seed pressed at a teasing 400 copies only, this second Ardisson release for Posthuman's label was hotly anticipated. All the elements that made his first EP so charismatic are here, with four tracks that, while probably getting shelved straight into the electronica section of your local independent, could quite easily go under garage, breaks, electro or elsewhere.
The broken 2-step of Stop! kicks the record off, mashing Libby Floyd's vocals into a framework of killer hi-hats, skippy sub-rhythms and trademark Ardission bass, followed by Only Touch The Right People, which hops between time signatures weaving a dirty, disorientating path. It's A Fine Line is another surefire crowd-pleaser, like some kind of Amon Tobin/Zed Bias bastardisation. Can You Keep Up? provides a quirky end moment, with trippy electro beats combining with a 2-step shuffle and comedy bassline. Highly recommended.
