I love getting first releases on new labels, as you just know that people wait for something really special with which to launch a new imprint. And this is special: from the striking artwork, to the way the vinyl is lovingly pressed, you know you have hit the jackpot here. Eight tracks of proper techno in the time honoured tradition; this is what Transmat should be releasing. Eight moments in time – no track titles, each track fades in and fades out, just short snippets of beauty.

Track one echoes the seminal work of Rhythim is Rhythim with soft, summery strings and lush bass tones. Track three is a more jazzy affair, reminiscent of Dan Curtin's excellent Metamorphic releases. The second track really does it for me though, with its mid paced drums and shimmering chords which are joined by the most subtle of bubbling acid lines and a string note that just gift wraps the tune immaculately. High caliber techno soul from a label that absolutely demands your attention.
