Kare Joao
Side ManNot something I want to do, but it's time to slag off a record on Jester – a label that releases some of the freshest futuristic rock shit around.
But unfortunately this release from a prodigal Brazilian/Norwegian multi-instrumentalist wanders off on to an indulgent psychedelic pop epic before the first organ has kicked in. And despite nods to Spacemen 3 and Loop there's as much Oasis in the music too. And a big dose of something like Spandau Ballet in there too. Urgh, I felt you shiver too.
Sorry Jester and sorry Mr Joao, it's not that I don't appreciate this album, it's just that I can't stand to listen to it.
