Wow what an awesome selection of party tunes, when's the sequel man?
A selection of tasty Brazilian nuggets makes up the third instalment of Spannered's Oddcast series.
Having recently returned to the UK from São Paulo, Brazil, Spannered's Al Fresco bundles together some of his favourite Brazilian finds for Oddcast #3.

"I arrived back from Brazil some incredible music from the past four or so decades, thanks in no small way to two people: DJ Paulão, a researcher of Brazilian music from the '60s and '70s, and Maga Bo, an American DJ and producer living in Rio, whose Sambacana radio shows (the entire archive of which is shortly to be hosted on Spannered) delve into pretty much every form of Brazilian music, from old school samba to drum 'n' bossa. And then there's Loronix — probably the best MP3 blog that exists about Brazilian music from the '50s to the '70s. More often than not, having trainspotted tracks from Paulão or Bo, I'd find a high quality rip of it, complete with artwork and detailed information on the musicians involved on Loronix. So big up those three!

I wanted to document some of the tunes I'd brought back with me, so here's a CD's worth of some of the most infectious and hummable. It's mainly '60s and '70s funk, soul, bossa nova and samba rock, with a jazz lick to a lot of it. I hope you like it."
Al Fresco, October 2007
